The Veronicas music genre is a mixture of Pop-Rock and Electro-Pop.
Pop-Rock is a mix of Pop music and Rock music utilizing a catchy pop style with light lyrics and guitar based songs. Pop-Rock has been described as an "upbeat variety of rock music".
Electro-Pop is a form of electroic music that is made with synthesizers and which first flourished from the late 1970's. Electro Pop laid the groundwork for a mass market in the chart-oriented Pop and Dance music. Electropop is characterized by an emphasized electronic sound, often described as cold and robotic. Electro Pop songs are Pop songs at heart, often with simple catchy hooks and dance beats. 2009 saw a huge increase of electropop artists also a rise in popularity of female electropop artists such as La Roux, Lady GaGa and Ladyhawke.
