Here is Lily Allen's album cover for her second album 'It’s not me, it's you'. The album cover looks very simple to create, by using only one prop which is the shape of L, that obviously stands for Lily. The 3D letter L is in black so it stands out from the dull background, it is the main focus of the album cover. Also they have kept Lily's outfit to a minimum she is wearing a light pink prom dress and a headpiece, with no accessories or shoes. Lily looks really relaxed and we can only see the side view of her. The only words on the album cover are her name in the top left corner 'Lily Allen' in a bold font and black writing with a pink outline. Underneath that is the name of the album 'It's not me, it's you' in pink.

This album cover is Girls Aloud third album called 'Out of control'. The background of the album is white which makes the five artists stand out. Each of the artists are striking a different pose for the camera, dressed in glamorous dresses and heels. In the background the words 'Girls Aloud' is in black, bold capital letters going around the sides of the walls. The floor is shinny and black so it is creating reflections. There are two props used in this shot. One is the high stool which Cheryl on the right, wearing a turquoise blue dress is sat on and the other is a white chair which Nicola on the left is leaning on. The text on the album cover is the name of the band 'Girls Aloud' in black capitals, so it stand out and it clear to read from the white background. Underneath the girl bands name is the album name which is in bright pink capitals. Both pieces of text are at the bottom of the album cover under the photo of the girl band, in the centre.

She is stood in the centre of the page with her bare back towards us, wearing only a pair of short hot pants with black tights and black heels. At both her sides she has black tigers which create the image that Lily is dangerous and wild. Her name 'Lily Allen' fills the middle of the magazine from left to right. The name Lily is in black capital letters, and Allen is in white capital letters, they both stand out from the dull grey background. Above her name are the words 'Sexy Beast' also in capitals with sexy in white and beast in blue. The word beast in blue makes it catch our eye, they are trying to imply that Lily is a beast just like the tigers by her sides. Below her name it says '& her wicked, wicked ways...' the word wicked is lager that the other text and also in red which is a sign of danger and evil. The magazine cover has a barcode which is in the bottom right corner with the month and year of the magazine and the price. This magazine cover is very simple and sophisticated with a grey background and only the use of black, white red and blue colour of text, also all the text on the cover is in capital letters so it is easy to read from a distance. The magazine cover doesn't give anything away it uses words like 'exclusive' that make you buy the magazine to find out more.

This is Kerrang music magazine with the main ‘Pete Wentz’ singer from the band ‘Fall Out Boy’ on the front cover. He is wearing a bright orange t-shirt and licking an ice cream. This magazine cover is very busy with lots
happening. The barcode is on the right hand side near the middle of the page, which is very unusual. It has the issue number, date and price of the magazine. The text all over the magazine is all in white bold capital letters so you are able to read it clearly from a distance. They use the words like ‘Free’, ’Win’ And ’More’ on the cover to persuade people to buy the magazine because they will be getting a free gift like a poster or CD. The name of the magazine is at the top of the cover in bold white capital letters with a black background. The main colour use on the cover is white, black, red and yellow to attract attention.

Target Audience

My music video will have a target audience aimed at young female's aged between 13-19. The reason I have chose young teenage female's as my target audience is because 'The Veronicas' main fan base consist of young teenage females. Many of The Veronicas songs and song lyrics relate to boys and being in relationships which young teenage females can relate with these types of situations because similar problems and events have happened in their own lives.

I have given my DVD a PG rating when creating my designs for the DVD cover. I think this classification is best suited for my artist because their main fan base starts from a young age.

The Veronicas

The Veronicas are an Electro-Pop, Pop-Rock duo based in Australia. Twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso formed the duo in 2004 in Brisbane. Born on 25th December 1984, to Italian-Australian parents Colleen and Joseph. Jessica became the older one by one minute. Jessica and Lisa started performing in small parts on various television shows, including a recurring role in the short-lived 2001 Australian children's series ‘Cybergirl‘. The American Disney Channel series ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ where they portrayed twin sisters. They have also appeared on Neighbours, the Australian drama.

On their 18
th birthday, Jessica received her first guitar, at which time the sisters began writing and singing songs. They formed the group Teal with two friends. The group experimented with different sounds and genres working with songwriters and producer, releasing a song called "Baby It's Over" which received minor airplay in Brisbane.

In 2004, Lisa
Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso were introduced to the Music Director of The Bell Hughes Music Group, Hayden Bell. After producing some demo recordings with the twins, Bell invited them to sign a publishing agreement with Excalibur Productions. In the process, Bell helped facilitate their progression in musical style from acoustic pop to the more rhythmic rock pop approach which is now their trademark. On the strength of these demos, Bell took them to meet the executives at Engine Room and they were immediately signed to a production deal. To further develop their song writing skills, Bell connected them with several internationally acclaimed songwriters and producers where they created a catalogue of over 50 songs.

Meetings were then arranged with Warner Bros Records in the USA. Seymour Stein and senior executives recognised that Bell had indeed discovered and developed a musical talent, signing them quickly to a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records/Sire America, for a reported sum of 2 million dollars.

2010 presents a third album from The
Veronicas, on 8 October 2009 Jess announced on her twitter page that the writing for an upcoming 3rd studio album had begun, the album will have a different sound. Lisa also confirmed that recording for the third album would commence in January of 2010. Currently both sisters live in Los Angeles and in their hometown of Brisbane, Australia, when not touring or travelling.

Regarding how they chose their band name, Jess
Origliasso stated: "The name is something we thought about for a short time, and we wanted it to be a girl's name, but we didn't want it to be 'the Jesses.' We were very conscious of not wanting to make it a twin thing, because we don't think that's really cool." "We didn't want it to be called 'the Lisa’s,' either," singer Lisa Origliasso added. "So one day we saw the movie Heathers, and there's a line where Christian Slater asks, 'Are you a Heather?' and Winona Ryder's character answers, 'No, I'm a Veronica,' and so we went with that, because she was this kind of cool, unique chick with an attitude."
