Part 3

We have chosen to put Kate Moss on the front cover for our version of The Sunday Times newspaper magazine, the reasons for this being she is instantly recognizable to the readers for this type of magazine. She is a fashion icon and is great for the front cover as Kate Moss is a very popular model who appeals to women with an age range of 17-30.
We have kept to the style of the original magazine by keeping the cover very simple and sophisticated. The image of Kate is in black and white keeping to the theme for the Sunday Times fashion magazine. The position of the title of the newspaper is situated in the top left corner and the date is in the top right hand corner which is the same as The Sunday Times magazine. By using the bright colour pink for the title of the magazine 'Style' it makes the title stand out from the dull grey background, this makes the magazine easily recognizable for the audience. We have kept the colour scheme the same throughout the front cover using only bright pink, bright blue and white text. Along the left side of the cover we have created some sub-headings that we think are suitable for this type of magazine. 'Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection', is one of the sub-headings we have used on the front cover because this type of magazine is built up of world famous popular fashion designer. Every other page throughout the original magazine has a double page advertisement for famous fashion designers. The main topics that appear in the magazine we have used capital letters for the text, this is to make the main topics stand out to the audience. We have used the word 'Exclusive' to make the audience want to buy the newspaper for the magazine with an exclusive interview with Kate Moss. The word 'Exclusive' is highlighted in a bright blue background so to stands out to the audience. Also we have used a quote from Kate Moss, that will interest the readers so they will want to read on.
